Josh,, Was that you who drove by me at Twin Lakes Beach evening of the Seventh? I had just parked my 88 next to the beach.

Though the picture of the carb couldn't possibly have been taken from any FARTHER away... ;) ...I suspect it's one of these:

I will get some close ups, after I figure the safe way to take off the air intake.

Due you no where the part number might be on it? I can not assume it has not been replace sometime in its past life

Unfortunately I hove no specific knowledge of Rover carbs. It was only a simple bit of Googling that came up with that link to the various SU carb models used on British vehicles. The SU is visually-different than most other carbs used on Rover engines.

If I'm reading the "Series 2 Timeline" (attached) correctly...

The 2.6 was introduced in May of '67 with a single SU HD-6... then in June the SU was replaced with a Zenith 175 CD-2S .

I'll do that, thanks! I have organized a Rover get to gether every third Sunday of the month at the Round Table Pizza at Scotts Valley @6pm, maybe you can make some of those too. Last week was our first one. Any type of Rover is welcome.
