I have a 1967 109 station wagon

It has the heavy duty front springs

It has the medium duty rear springs

I have added a winch, Heavy duty front bumper, a full Brown Church Rack(Heavy Duty)and Rock Sliders.
The Bumper and Sliders are from Ike at Pangolin4x4.

What shocks would you buy?

thanks

I'm using Pro Comp (our hosts have them) on my S3 109, been working good for the last few years.

My vote would be for Old Man Emu shocks.

OME are a good bet if you are running a decent load. You might want to look into Koni Raids if want some adjustability. I just ditched the OME on my LC100 and went with them, much better ride. They are made for Defenders '84 on, but not sure if they will work on 109.

I have the Pro Comps from our hosts on my SIII and am satisfied with them. They are fine if maybe a bit firm, and certainly dampened the hobby horse motion that I was getting from whatever was on there previously. I could not justify going higher end with stock leaf springs; now parabolics or coils would be a different story.

Old man Emu, with parabolics, rides like a large american car, no bunny hop like a leafer.

Very happy with my OME shocks (with parabolics).
