I have isolated a tick in my motor that seems to point to the number 7 intake valve...
It is rythmic and increases as engine speed increases...
I have adjusted the valves 3 times (I have done valves for 20 years) but the tick remains on number 7...
I started the motor with the valve cover off, and saw good oil flowing to all rocker arms, push rods, and rocker shaft at idle...
I took a small oil can of 90wt and dropped a couple of drops on the rocker arm where it meets the push rod and also where it contacts the valve...there was no change in the noise.
Any ideas on what this might be would be helpful. The head was a bought in 1999 from RN and is a turner engineering head.
There is NO fluctuation in vacuum at idle (22 hg) or under power. There is no miss or lack of power...gas and fuel economy are fine. Motor burns no oil.
I am at a bit of a loss to figure out what this may be?
Any help appreciated!

Griswald
