I'm replacing my brake lines from the rear flex hose back with new componets and have a few questions. I noticed that the new 3 way junction is different (or I ordered the wrong one). No big deal, I would just use the old one, however the new pipes don't fit in as far as I think they should and the insides look different (where the flare would be seated). Also, notice the old flare vs. the new flare (the old ones are incorrect, right?). See the attached images. Any advice would be much appreciated.

One is single flare and in inches (old style), the other is double flare and metric (new style). This is where old meets new.

Here is a picture of mine. The pipe end fittings don't go in all the way. Also - notice the copper washer. Use one.

Not sure why they rotated left 90 degrees

This website, while directed at an American audience has useful information and points out some of the difficulties of mating the various types of flares and American, British and metric thread patterns. There is more information on their "home" page.
