2nd gear adjustment

Just finished putting in new lay shaft and bearing in my gearbox. Everything works except when I took it for a test drive it would not quite go into 2nd gear. The green bible says to adjust stop on 2nd gear selector shaft , but give no specs for the adjustment. Any info would be appreciated, Series IIa suffix B gearbox.
