Can anybody recommend a good repair manual for a 00 Disco II? Haynes says they don't have one and don't know of plans to make one.

Just a thought...do Land Rover have an official one for the DII ?
I have the LR manual for my DI and the parts catalog as well........

I would recommend the Genuine Land Rover Workshop Manual for every Discovery II owner's garage. Two volume set, and don't forget the big binder too.

Yes, i think so........ i've been using different LR factory manuals for a few years now, you may have to adapt to some new terminology

Discovery Series II Official Workshop Manual: 1999-2002
from Atlantic British, and has been very useful. In addition, those guys are very helpful if you call/email a question.
How much is that "official" manual?
