OK, in the category of "learning from your mistakes," I bought a used Coram bottle jack and turned the valve too far so some of the oil leaked out. Does anyone know how to refill it, what kind of oil to use, and how much? The pictograms that LR printed on the label are useless. - Thanks.

There should be a plug about half way up the body of the jack, it might look like a rivet head, but it's a rubber plug. Some of the better jacks had an actual screw in filler. Fill it up with "Hyd. Jack Oil" or just use automatic transmission fluid. Fill only to the bottom of the filler hole, this is messy; lay it on it's side and fill with fluid, then stand upright and see if it's up to the bottom of the filler hole. Done...

Thanks, I just tried it and now it works perfectly (and yes, very messy)

Great! Now, you're set for life on this job, as most every bottle jack made is similar.

I also faced the issue it really gets messy to bear out these types of things. I have been living in the woodbridge and its quite hectic that I can not find a good mechanic who can do it for me.
