    synchromesh gear travel

I'm rebuilding the gear box in my 1961 109 station wagon. I have the bell housing attached to the gearbox, and am now assembling the selector forks. I have all the forks in, but it seems like the synchromesh on 3rd and 4th gear does not have a lot of travel. Pushing the 3rd and 4th selector shaft fore and aft, it moves maybe 3/8 of an inch in either direction. Should I be getting more travel than that. Trying to think if I installed something incorrectly.

    Thanks

Never mind, I figured it out. The center hub of the synchromesh moves back and forth. Mine was just a little tight. Rebuilding the transmission has definitely been a learning experience.
