Fender mirror material - Metal or plastic?

I've bought two sets of round fender mirrors for my '64, each one claiming to be better than the other, and they are both made of plastic. I have to assume the originals were metal (correct?), so I'm wondering if there is still a source for metal ones?

You could always check with Ike (https://pangolin4x4.com/home). He tends to carry NLA genuine series parts. My personal preference is for the plastic ones because they do not rust.
