Diesel or patrol engine ?

I want to buy a land rover series 3 but i want to know which engine is better?

And to compare and know everything about it.

I understand that the stock Diesel engines were grossly under on power. My gas engine is stock at 68 horse power. I like the gas over diesel, both are not race engines but they get the job done.

The diesel is nice if you are pulling heavy stuff or traveling out beyond, they are generally a superb engine and can hardly break. Unless you get a diesel at a price to make it near theft, don't........... get a gas. starts now, no smoke, no noise, and it goes when you step on it, doesn't smell as much, but mostly it goes and especially if you run with the cab off.
