    Split Ring for Layshaft

I got a new split ring for the layshaft in the gearbox. The ring comes in one piece. Might be a dumb question but how do I split it?

    Thanks

I believe you mean the heavy 'snap ring'? It takes a special type of plier, A flat face snap ring plier, similar to those used for piston rings. The ring is forced open slightly and slipped into place. 'Split ring' is usually a British term for a 'lock washer'.

Ahhh... I would suppose you cut it with a hack saw (or cut-off tool). Or does it have snap lines to break it in two? My trans is a lot different being an LT95. Sorry, for the bad advise.
