Painting my old Exhaust Manifold- what was the original color ?

Team, freshening up the intake and exhaust gaskets. Since I’ve pulled the manifolds I’d like to ask, wha would have been the original color of the paint on the exhaust manifold. I don’t want to tart it up too much- I planned on a coat of some black anti rust Eastwood product, followed by either dark gray, or black, high temp paint. But what would be ‘original’ to the truck?

Here is the engine Ike has for sale. Looks like dark gray.

I don't think they were painted. The intake was aluminum and the exhaust was iron.

I've never had any paint stick to an exhaust manifold for longer than a few days, even the "high heat" stuff. Your options are to ceramic coat it, or use this: https://www.eastwood.com/calyx-manif...iABEgLLm_D_BwE

I've used it on multiple manifolds. It last for a long time and re-applying is easy.

I have always wondered about the Eastwood product, nice to hear it works.
