Headlamps won't work. Where should I start looking for trouble? I know the actual lamps are ok.

The grounds. Both the grounds on the radiator bulkhead (breakfast) and where it all comes together by the battery.

Almost all of my lighting problems have been because of a bad ground.

First of all check the fuse of course.

Check any bullet connectors in the head lamp wiring for corrosion. This has happened to me before on Head lamps and signal markers.

Definitely check the floor mounted dip switch for the main beams. On our way up to RN headquarters in VT last January we noticed the headlamps blinking on and off and eventually turning off completely on the way up. Turns out the wires for the new dip switch were in just the wrong place that the insulation was worn through by the clutch pedal and they shorted.
