LED bulbs for Series?

Has anyone put LED replacement bulbs into a Series for side marker lights or turn signals? Can they just be plugged in or is that not a thing? I was at the auto parts store and saw a large selection of LED replacements for various lamps and the brake and tail lights, etc are all pretty faint and I was hoping there was a magic easy solution. Although maybe I should concentrate and clearing the mouse nests out of the truck. Thanks!
