Series III Santana won’t shift to 3rd or 4th

Having issues shifting my 81 SIII Santana into 3rd and 4th. By issues I mean it won’t… lately I’ve noticed a high pitched screeching noise when I accelerate through 2nd but it only lasts a few seconds. Sometimes with 3rd but rarely. Yesterday was taking the boys for ice cream and had to leave it in 2nd a putt through the neighborhood to get home. Would appreciate any input!

sorry, no help here but i'd do a good check for non-alignment of the forks, can't explain the screeching ..... It's full of oil right?
