Hey everyone. I'm taking possession of my first Range Rover Classic, a 1995 SWB with the original 3.9L engine. My question is; what are the effects of not running premium fuel as the owner's manual suggests?
Thanks.

I asked the same type question on another forum:

No 100% conclusive responses though. Looks like you can run either but its best to stay with the 92 octane.

I always use the best fuel I can find.... I find it runs better and better fuel econ.
Also it will " ping" when you step into it.... predetination< spell check please>::::::::::::::; very harmful::::::::::::::
The only thing I burn regular in is the wife's Expensivelander...I hate to spend any money on it.

'76 101 Foward control
'95 RR LWB 4.2
'02 Expensivelander
Maybe the new trucks can run on cheap fuel>>> I just sold a '02 Disco that liked the top grade as well.
