A recent post got me wondering about the Station Wagon nameplate mountd below the Land Rover name plate.

1. Is this for 109s only?
2. Is there any correlation with the rear door (vs tailgate) and the name plate?
3. When did the Station Wagon nameplate appear and disappear?
4. Are they found on both the front and rear?

I have seen some 88s with this plate.

nope - there were 88 wagons as well
2. Is there any correlation with the rear door (vs tailgate) and the name plate?
yes - the SW had the full door, while the hardtop has the liftgate
3. When did the Station Wagon nameplate appear and disappear?
hmm - I think as early as '59 but I could be wrong - but ended around '67 ??
4. Are they found on both the front and rear?

yessir :)

Jeff

My 88" '72 SIII had the SW plate on it. (Rear only of course, since the front originally had the plastic front.) The US-spec SIII's from '72 to '74 were all pretty much "Station Wagons", though they'd lost the roof vents that the trop-top has, etc.
