    oxygen sensor issues

    Hi All,
Ive got a 99 Disco 1, great truck and great fun with 217 K km on it.

A few weeks ago got CEL and finally read the codes, they were P0130 and P0133. Both refer to drivers side oxygen sensor. I replaced the sensor with a new one.

Drove for 2 hrs today, CEL came on again. Checked the codes and again, same codes appeared.

Any suggestions, any simple fault diagonistics that I can do to narrow down the problem since it does not seem to be the oxygen sensor.

    Thanks, super forum.

      4 sensors?

If memory serves me right there are 4 sensors. 2 located behind the engine just forward of the cats and 2 located behind the cats.

After completing my 120,000 mi service I had to replace the 2 located forward of the cats. I had to drop the wye pipe in order to gain access to the fittings. The electrical connection was disconnected and reconnected using long needle nose pliers. My hands would not fit between the bulkhead and the engine.

      Just a thought.
