LR3 Navigation system in Europe (Germany)

Does anybody have information on how to change a US LR3 Navigation system? I took my car over to Germany and can't activate the system here. The Dealer told me the German CD would not work (I haven't tried it yet). The little GPS signal is inactive (crossed out) when I start the truck....
