Hello,

I am putting on new parabolics on my late IIA 88. I have blasted and painted the shackles and spring plates.

I did not pay attention to how the front go together. Page 40 of the catolouge helps with the orientation of the threaded shackle, but it is the orientation of the Non-threaded one I need help with.

On the front spring assembly, there is a welded-on spacer on one end of the non threaded shackle. Is this facing up or down?

Thanks-
Todd

I think it's down. Check the width of the frame mount and spring end and The spacer makes the shackle hang plumb.

Yes down and on the inside of the frame rails.
All my shackle nuts are on the in board side of the springs and all my in board shackles are threaded.
I beleive they stopped threading them at some point during vehicle production but you can still buy them.
