Just got my new sliders from rovers north and they have a couple rust spots :( like this:

I was wondering what recommendations you guys and gals have besides making them take it back.

I am a little sketchy about taking sand paper to it, but i might be crazy

Looks like just some flash rust around the welds. Shouldnt be a big deal.

What are you going to do with them as far as a coating.

You can neutralise it with a chem neutraliser, or Por 15 it, or both.

Not a huge deal, unless those are supposed to be galvanised.

Take the sliders out of a test drive and the rocks will work great on removing the rust.

I had to paint my sliders once a year :D

Have fun!!

Go with POR-15, mine looked like garbage till I sanded and put a few coats on... almost been a year and they still look great! Dont forget the topcoat for the UV protection.

Looks like a poor job of galvanizing to me. I'd send them back.

+1 if they are supposed to be galvy then that piece was not correctly prepared.

to be honest it was not correctly prepared regardless of the finish. I'm sure they will take it back.

Is the other side like that?
