Yesterday I picked up a 11A parts truck/pile. I was sorting a box of stuff and found 2 warn free wheel hubs.
I have a series 3. Does anyone hnow if these will fit my rig? Also is it possible to get new rubber gaskets for them? They are marked M11.
Thanks, Phill

As far as I know freewheel hubs for a IIA should fit a III no problem at all.

They will most likely fit your SIII but there is a chance that the SIII has the 24 spline stub shafts where as the IIa has the usual 10 spline. The M11's are 10 spline hubs(Anyone know if the M11 came in a 24 spline version?). Easy enough to tell what you have. Just remove the grease cap, and castled nut on one of the front drive flanges and count the splines.
I'd be interested in them as a spare set if you decide not to use them.

Thanks for the info. I'll check the splines.
The two trucks were built less than a year apart so maybe they will work.

I tried to get Warn to help me with mine and they informed me they were no longer in there parts inventory. Interestingly enough there on my Canadian (73) Series Three.

they are very common- probably the best hubs for the series LR. Remember to lock them periodically to lubricate everything.

As long as the spline count on the drive flange is the same they will fit.

No, they're not 24.
2A and 3 will use the same hub

Later SIII had 24 spline outers on the front, think it was after 1981. A good friend of mine has them on his SIII. I once parted a SIIa that had a later front axle fitted, it had 24 spline outers.

A friend of mine has those on his lightweight- That is why there are still 24 spline locking hubs available out there- they aren't meant for the coilers! ;)

Good point Jason. I guess I shoud have been more specific. North American 2A & 3 use the same hub. They stopped bringing them in well before the 24 spline, which I think must have been a BMC change.

Those 24 spline front ends are all over the place here now- you find them in the strangest places and in vehicles you really wouldn't expect them in. They've had a long time to filter over here I guess.

Make me a good offer...I have cleaned them up, but never had them on my truck. I take a few pics later, Jake.

Yes they can have a 24 spline on the stub axle of a SIII. In other words... Do Too! :p
