I am putting the two canopy trim pieces (inside top of windscreen) in place where none existed before and am trying to figure out the 2 brackets that hold these in place.

Part numbers 331391 and 331390 would appear to be simple angle pieces I can fab together from sheet metal. Page 528 in the parts catalog references them. Anyone have a pic (or dimensions) of those that might guide me in getting them to appear somewhat correct?

Thanks,

Jeff

..right from the good book that LR (not RN) wrote. White covered, 600 pages, chock full of fun drawings and part numbers.

While the pics don't specifically call it out, it appears these canopy trim pieces are held in place with sheet metal screws on either end.

I think you are refering to the visor panel. There are two styles: one and two piece versions. Early cars used the two piece while later ones are one signal piece. If I recall correctly they have different brackets.

LR calls them canopy trim. I would call them visor panels as you did. They support the visors. In this pic of the Dali Lama's ride, they are behind the grey sun visors held in place with 4 screws. I have this same "two piece" version.

Again, just trying to see the bracketry that hold those panels in place.

Ref 331391 and 331390 unfortunately are NLA... :( prior to launching our new site, and most likely why they are not listed.

Here is the illustration from the Land Rover Series IIA and III Land Rover 109 in Optional Equipment book, ref parts highlighted in red.

..you would be my hero if you would snap a pic of the brackets in red in the post above yours. Those are the ones I am looking to fabricate.

not a problem - when I get back up to the truck (and as long as it doesn't mean tearing into the panels since it's so original). it's an hour away from me.

Can you point out exactly where the brackets would be? on the outside edges of the panels?

The two white panels are held in place with two screw apiece. Read up to post #7 and you will see the red outlined brackets I am attempting to fabricate. Those brackets are bolted to the windscreen edge. Thanks!!!!Jeff
