I picked this up from an inquiry I made on the Series 2 Club forum and decided I'd pass it along.

The story I heard is that SPI (the main manufacturer of repro Series body parts) is up for sale. For some reason (and I don't see how this is connected with the sale, but it is what I was told) they are no longer dealing direct with retailers, only wholesalers, and have drastically cut back the range of parts available.
I understand (again I have no hard evidence) that some of the large parts suppliers have been reselling SPI panels under their own brand name, and I guess it will take them some time to re-source these items. For now, if I were you I would buy the panels you need, anywhere you can find them. Meanwhile, if our Thai connection with the CKD tooling is reading this, start stamping out panels and send them over here. This is your big chance.
