Hi folks,

I used to be into the Discovery forums...but not too long ago my brother-in-law was using the 96' Disco, ran a red light and totalled it off.

As my Land Rover fever wouldn't break without a green oval nearby, I came across and ended up puchasing a 63' Series IIA 88". (feeling much better now..phew!) Loving it so far!

Just thought I'd say hi and post a couple pics so you all can see what I've gotten myself into. Looking forward to reading and hopefully contributing to the Series cause when I can.

Cheers,
Thomas

Nice looking rig.

Did the inside roof get Rhino Lined or is it just painted black?

Thanks. The previous owner painted it black. I'm toying with the idea of painting the hardtop "limestone", partly for looks and partly to keep the sun from heating up that large uninsulated piece of metal.

If I am seeing this correctly....What the heck kind of heater is in there? WOW.
Cool Landy!

It's a Kodiak Mark III.....I beleive it was a very popular add-on in colder North American climates....especially here in Canada.

Glad to see another Series on the road, love mine dearly and despite the many quirks I find it occupying hours of my time constructively. Hopefully yours will too.....

Nice rover. Is the body paint really as shiny as it looks? Shiniest rover I have seen in a while. Better get it dirty quick! :thumb-up:

Thanks for the welcome folks.

Yup.....the paint is that shiny. There are some mud spatters on the rear but it was from the previous owner as I received the vehicle without working brakes.

As soon as that's sorted...and if we actually get to see dirt (instead of snow) then it will get dirtier.

Actually I was looking at it more today and the paint on there now is just an exterior overspray. It was red everywhere else....but not that shade. (or shiny).

Cheers,
Thomas
