CDL Option - Is it worth hooking up?
Has anyone managed to purchase and install the control linkage for the Center Differential Lock in the 1999 - 2000 Discovery II Land Rovers?
Serial number says the lock is present just not accessible from the cab.

Yes
Check out the discoweb tech section for some ways to hook it up.

Or get an 04 shifter which will engage the CDL.
Or you can also use the shifter assembly from a D1 which is much cheaper but not a nice as it allows more nosie into the cab as it mounts right on the trans and is not isolated like the 04 D2 unit.
I made my own brackets and used an old heavy duty Series choke cable I had laying around.

The best mod you will ever do. Takes about two and a half hours in the driveway, really easy. Save some money and buy a used D1 shifter.

I have a 99 Disco II and would like to know what serial numbers came equipped with the CDL but no linkage?
Thanks,
Geoff

Don't know the serial numbers but the CDL nipples were still on the t-case until very early 2001.
My 2001 still has it.:D
It's best to check as sometimes t-cases get changed.
