Join MuddyOval for a weekend!

Hosted by The Mountain Road Resort (http://www.mountainroadresort.com/)in Stowe, Vermont. We'll be meeting for a weekend of Rovers, food, entertainment and trail runs Friday June 6th through Sunday the 8th.

All participants are encouraged to bring their "A" game when it comes to camp cooking. Using only equipment you brought in your Rover, let's see if you can put together a culinary treat. Whether your specialty is simple meat on a stick or something exotic, bring it on and compete for the title of Birmabright Chef.

A private screening of several episodes of the upcoming TV Series ODYSSEY (http://www.odysseyshow.com/), where you'll see a devoted group drive literally around the world in Land Rover Discovery II's. Also a short documentary of the original first year MuddyOval North Maine Expedition will be premiered.
Local "secret" trails will be available to test your skill and certified Land Rover driving instructors will be on hand to help you fine tune your skills at NO extra charge!

If any of your party do not desire to spend some time on the trails, we will have a vehicle available for groups to head to the shopping district in Stowe.

DAP (http://www.dap-inc.com/) will be represented with specials on all kinds of Land Rover goodies, door prizes and free gifts! Order ahead for delivery at the event and get a special discount- a great chance to get some recovery gear!
The Mountain Road Resort is offering a special rate for this weekend, although you absolutely need to book as soon as possible. This is a small luxury resort and space is limited! Check out their web site (http://www.mountainroadresort.com/) for details about the indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs and other amenities.

The Mountain Road Resort Reservation Hotline is open to book this event. The rate is $99.00 per night (not including tax). That includes continental breakfast, resort fees, welcome reception - wine and cheese - or beer if you are so inclined.

Seems rather poor form to post a DAP hyperlink on the RN bulletin board.

Cranky! I've been told that both RN and DAP are participating in the event with prizes, etc. We are even planning a visit to RN for a shopping spree.

Why don't you visit with us and do some wheeling? I'm sure you will like second evend of the day. It's a three mile loop near RN that is sure to test the abilities of even the most expert driver and rig.

I'm new to the RN forum but you are correct about the link. The write up was posted before RN, ARB, and Atlantic British got involved. I've made some flyers recently and their support has been posted. Sorry about the plug but the posting was pulled from another site. It was very well written and sumarized the event. It's since become sort of the flyer.

Hope to see you there!

Who won the cookoff? It was hot enough to cook without even lighting a grill.

Ray Hyland with Grilled bacon wrapped shrimp. There are several articles detailing the event in the works for a number of magazines and I think a video news report to be posted by RN at some point.

I'll post a link to an assortment of pictures from the weekend in the next week or so. The turnout was HUGE - way beyond expectations.

Thanks again to all who attended the event, our volunteers, driving instructors and sponsors!

with a few critical changes. The off-road portion will be improved to offer a better variety of difficulty and we will shorten the "driving to get to the event" portion. Watch this space for more details.

Muddy Oval looks as if it imploded due to sever lack of interest by much of anyone...
