a question for you xmod folks. if you have a nice 24v spot light and you want to mount it onto a 12v rove is it as simple as changing the bulb?

Or, you could put in a Lucas step-up transformer.

You might want to look at the fuse and wire gauge/condition. For the same light output you are doubling the amps. I don't expect it to be an issue but make sure the fuse (There is one isn't there?)will take it are an appropriate size.

It shouldn't be anything more than a quick check but if you don't do it it can cost you a lot of hassle. Don't ask how I found this out on a 101 but it involved a lot of melted harness.

Some items onthe MOD trucks just don't take higher amps than they were designed for. The classic 101 experience is the infra red relay switch in the lighting circuit that promptly goes ppppffft if you convert to civvy halogens.

Cheers

i'm running a dbl battery set up with a seperate fuse panel and wiring for all my add-ons. it's got a 24v 6" lamp that i'll just switch out for a 12v. i add nothing to 44 y/o wiring.
