For a 2.25 motor, how many gallons per minute flow is needed through the radiator?
Radiator flow rate???

Your radiator when new...
..can flow much faster than your water pump can pump.
If you trying to diagnose an overheat situation, try running a garden hose into the rad filler neck and watch it drain out the bottom of the rad.
If it can keep up with a strong flow from the hose, you are good to go, otherwise you are due for a radiator rod out.

Flow rate depends on rpm and ranges from 20 Liters/min to 80 liters/min and is regulated by the thermostat. The higher the number of channels or 'passes' in the radiator is what determines its cooling efficency. If your pump is not leaking and the impeller is not corroded there should be no problem with flow. If you have the radiator out of the truck, have a good shop boil it out, test it for leaks & R&R.
