battery drain mystery So sick of jump starting girl's car (http://www.landroversonly.com/forums/#) every few mornings!!!!!

i have read many of the mystery battery drain posts.

my girlfriend 03 range rover keeps loosing battery power when it sits for more than two days.

one of the rr tech guys suspected something to do with moveable steering (http://www.landroversonly.com/forums/#) column??

wondering if anybody has a recent unexpired link to the andy cunningham battery drain trace procedures he wrote/

re alarm system (http://www.landroversonly.com/forums/#) BECM waking up/sleeping/waking up, is there a new RF part or service bulletin from the last few years???

is the RF bypass from Battery Drain on a Range Rover 4.0/4.6 (http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/electrical/batdrain.html) advisable for a slightly mechanically inclined guy to do it myself, OR will a RR Dealer (http://www.landroversonly.com/forums/#) do it?

thanks mucho guys

Most of the solutions you referenced only apply to pre-03 Rovers. By your statements, you have a Mk III Rangie, 4.4.

The steering wheel motors are a common fault on this model.

Battery drains can be found under some conditions by inserting an ammeter in series with the battery ground and removing fuses until the current goes down, however, in most Rangies, one must wait for the computers to go to sleep so it could take quite some time to find the culprit. It goes without saying that blindly removing fuses can result in computers balking!
