I have a question on the oil fill breather.
I recently made my first long distance trip with my 1964 Series IIa (2.25 petrol), from Texas to Washington State. The Rover ran fine the whole trip, but now my engine bay is black with oil sprayed from the oil fill breather, to the point where oil is leeching up through the rivets on the hood and the air filter is covered. Is this normal?
I never noticed this on my shorter runs around town, and I do not get anything like this from the breather on the valve cover. I'm just wondering if the filter on the oil fill breather is shot and I need to replace it. Thanks.
