Any advice on best way to break in a new 2.25 engine?

Keep the RPM's mid to low range but vary them. Don't run it high or at a constant RPM. Change the oil at 100 miles, again at 500 miles. If you have the copper head gasket retorqe it at 100 miles. You should be good to go at 500 miles....

If you've had the cylinder bores honed then use a cheap oil for the run in period to help the rings bed in. Fancy synthetic wonder oil actually lubricates too well in this case.

As it has roller tappets I don't hink you have to bother with the initial 2000+rpm run that is required for flat tappet/hydraulic cams.
