    original VIN

Newbie here, I just purchased a 1968 SIIa Pickup style I am looking to completely restore, I was told it is an ex-British Navy vehicle. I was told it has a new galvinized frame (looks like it is to me). I have the orginal vin number and was wondering if there is a site I can track the history.

If it is a civvy VIN # then this will decode it:
The Clifton website provides info on scientific text services, about the Linux BogoMips mini-Howto, off-roading in a Land Rover Discovery, and Arabic calligraphy on oriental rugs

If it is military it is a whole different kettle of fish. The history of an Army vehicle can be obtained by pursuing one of the avenues described in this thread.

Note the etiquette. Some places do this FOC but it is generally seen as good form to make a donation to a charity supporting the British military or its veterans.

Ex RAF trucks can be traced be sending a letter to the RAF museum at Hendon. Their info can be pretty sketchy as Land Rovers don't fly so are not considered very interesting to the boys in blue. I don't know about ex RN stuff. I don't think they really cared because it doesn't float.

      Cheers

          Les,
Beverley no longer does this. I think it may even have been shut down. It has had a rather on again off again existence for a while now. At least I know the Beverley actually moved to a new museum.

The archives were moved to the RLC museum. Details are:
