ABS kicking in at every stop

Lately the Anti Lock system on my 97 D1 has been activating every time the truck stops. Whenever I am coming to a stop and I hit 5mph the ABS kicks in and the truck just keeps rolling unless I slam on the pedal, causing it to just lock up and jerk to a stop. Other than the obvious safety hazard it is really annoying and I have stopped driving the truck altogether. It is my only car right now and I have no idea what would be causing it. I've been riding my 50cc scooter everywhere and it's getting old fast. I've heard of ABS becoming inop but never heard of a hyperactive system before. Any ideas? Will pulling the fuse de-activate the abs system?

Probably a wheel sensor. Try pulling them, cleaning them off and reseat them. I obviously wouldn't recommend it to someone else (I take no resposibility for what you do) but on my '96 I pulled the fuse for the pump that's located under the hood. My brakes worked just fine but no ABS.
