    Tranny coming out of gear?

The tranny and transfer case in my truck were both replaced within the last year with rebuilds from RN, and both seem solid. But, a couple times now I've had it pop out of gear. I'll be engine braking in 3rd, with or without the OD in, and I'll hear the revs drop off. If I try to shift back into 3rd or 4th, I get grinding as if the synchros weren't there. If I double-clutch into 3rd, or just stop completely and start again from 1st, everything is back to normal. Has yet to happen under acceleration, just deceleration. Other than something pushing on the linkage, what should I be looking for?

A visual on the 3rd 4th syncro detent springs would be my first course of action. How does the trans shift into 3rd and 4th on the fly? I don't know what brand syncro was used but after all the trouble I had with my aftermarket syncro and holding both an aftermarket and a genuine LR in my hand I will not use anything but genuine LR should I need to ever fix it again.

    BTW where ar you located?
