I just bought an oil filter adapter for my SIII. It has a threaded hole for the oil warning light sender, but I also have the pressure sender. On the original canister filter, there is a banjo fitting for the warning sender and the pressure sender threads into the end of that. I'm curious if that whole thing unscrews from the original filter housing and could be screwed into the new adapter. I looked the original filter on mine, but the thick greasy shell that encapsulates it hides any hint of a joint and I don't want to do the conversion until I have a way to fit both senders in.

Many Thanks

It looks like this:

Not sure about your fitting but here is some related reading (link below) you may find interesting. If you already are aware of this problem you're ahead of the curve. I would guess your 2 into one adapter threads the same as the single sending unit, you could drain your oil and take it off the current filter housing and try it on your new adapter and at worst all you'd be out is 6 quarts of oil.

That link doesn't work. Could this be the "installing it backward" problem?

Yes, the old pressure sensor/gauge banjo unit assembly comes completely off. Assuming the threads are the same size you should be able to put it on the new unit.

Wow, after reading the link I decided to remain with the orginal oil filter type. Just ordered 2 cartridge filters from our hosts for my new baby.

I think the convenience far outweighs the danger, especially if you read the instructions. Mine was even stamped "top" and "front" so it would take some real carelessness to install it incorrectly.
