View Full Version : Wavy Bonnet

As some of you have figured out, I am currently in the process of swapping frames and fixing the bits that have rusted away.

I am looking at my bonnet and there seems to be a lot of waves and dips in it...maybe from the weight of the spare. Is everyone's this way?

No too. Check the steel channels on the underside of the bonnet for corrosion/damage/disconnectedness (if that's a word).

My original flat bonnet wasn't. But, I liked the look of the deluxe bonnet, and the fact that, dished out, would help w/ visibility over the tire, so I swapped bonnets for one.

Once I got it painted, I have noticed that, yeah, it has highs and lows on it. It's a more complex shape, w/ the rolls, and I'd say that, the metal just has been worked more and is easier to dent than the flat bonnets.
