Yellow Fans

I see yellow radiator fans in engine bay / motor pics from time to time is this standard? If so what models is this particular to?
I ask because I have mine out and will be painting it soon.

Black was the standard as it left the factory.

Are you perhaps seeing photos from British or European publications? Where gas is very expensive, electric fans are often a replacement option for owners because they use electric, not engine power while running. Often those fans are yellow.

The fans on both of my II-A's are black, well, actually, dull black/brown.

I've also seen the pictures with the original fan painted bright yellow, and I thought it looked good. It also seemed like it might be a bit safer, especially if you don't have the cowl.

In the end, I went with original black for my project.

Yellow fans are for an MGB but not a series Rover

I believe that the military 8-blade fans were yellow. Mine is.

Oh good im not crazy... But it looks like mine will be black.

The fans were black from the factory, I have a picture of 109s going to the coachbuilder for the ambulance bodies. I believe MOD shop probably painted them after they got the rovers so they were more visible when working under the hood.
