    Maple Syrup Rover again

It'll soon be time to run the lines and start gathering the sap - please let me know if you'd like some this year! I imagine it'll probably be late Feb-mid March that the boiling starts....

Soon it will be time to tap

Syrup season is about 2 months away for us here in the midwest.

I can't wait. I am hoping to have my carawagon ready to make the trip this year....

Camping, collecting and boiling and "rovering" -it doesn't get better than that.

How big of an syrup operation do you have?

            Okay,

What do I have to do to place dibs on a jug? They just don't have that stuff down here in GA! I used to do business with a gent in Delson, Quebec who would send me a jug every year, but he retired. Man I miss that!

I found the thread about this over on GnR fascinating, hadn't ever paid attention to how it was made before.

Then, once I moved into this house, and I realized that a lot of the trees in my yard are sugar maples, I thought that I might try to make some on my own. But then when I started looking, I realized that all of my trees are on the small size that's recommended for tapping. Maybe one day, but not yet. (Plus, we don't get as cold here, don't get that transition back and forth, the temperature fluctuation. Not far from here, about an hour away, over at Whitetop, the local fire department taps and boils some up near Mt Rogers, as fundraising, but I never remember when it's coming and miss it.)

So, I would like to be on your list, please. Thanks!

I'm interested in purchasing Grade A maple syrup. It's perfect on oatmeal in the mornings.

                  Land Rovers and Maple Syrup

I am using a 1970 2A to make maple syrup near Owen Sound , Ont.
Who else is using a Land Rover for syrup production?

Jeff A- I think we have the makings of a Roversnorth story

Jeff and maple syrup group- Sounds like we should submit some pictures and a write up of our maple syrup adventures for a future rovers north news article

Jeff A- what do you think?
