My 04 HSE came with the factory 18's and 255-55-18 tires. I would like to purchase a set of offroad wheels and tires to swap on once in a while when I want to play. Will a 15" wheel fit the 04 Disco II, if not, what is the smallest wheel I can run? Thinking of something cheap like black steelies or something. Thanks.

IIRC you can go down to 16 inch... I think 15 is too small for the brakes.

Thanks! Any suggestions on a cheap offroad wheel in a 16" size with the 5x120 pattern? If I am correct, the closest thing American Racing sells in a steel wheel is in a 5x4.75 pattern. Would I be best off to find a set of 16" rover wheels?

Try looking on Craigslist, ebay or even the for sale sections in the different forums for Disco 16 inch rims.

The smallest rim you can get is indeed 16". There are plenty of off road tyres to fit this size. I don't know if Land Rover ever fitted the steel rims to US models. They are available on base or commercial models here. You might be better finding some 16" Disco II alloys. People often upgrade to bigger alloys so you should be able to find some. I think P38 alloys fit too.

255/65/16 is the crossover stock tire size. I was puttering around with the idea myself of going to an off road tire. Try out this website for crossover tire sizing. It's very helpful. Too, keep in mind the Rover calls for an H rated tire and off road tires will usually be S or T rated ( harder compound and will skid and be a rougher ride )...Good luck...Here's the tire sizing calculator link http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Don't let the name confuse you, it will calculate all sizes.

Too, Rovers North has decent pricing on rims:thumb-up:
