Hello all. Looking at Clifford and the Land Rover faq for production data shows my Series III was built at the factory in 1973. Naturally my serial number falls in an area with less info on the faq. Does Land Rover use the same logic as the big 3, where at some point in the fall the vehicles produced are for the next model year? The closest number is 230 units past mine, built in Nov. '73. specifically, could I have a 1973 or '74? I know I could write the factory and settle it, but hate to turn loose of the small bit it would take to do so right now. The serial number is 25902949B.

You have a '73.

A lot of times, the original paperwork was based on the date it sold. If there was a '73 on the lot that didn't sell until '74, the paperwork might say that it is a '74, but if it sold in '73, then it was a '73. Rover didn't make changes based on year, they just would change something in mid-production. '73 or '74 wouldn't make a difference to a Rover.

'73 it is. Alabama did not require titles for older vehicles, so this one came with a vague sales receipt. My IIa was advertised as a '58 and ia a '65, the III was advertised as a '71 or '72 and is a '73.:) common problem, i take it, with Land Rovers. Now if I could only make my '00 Disco into an '04.
