Disco II Trans noise

I have a 2000 Disco II which has developed a grinding type transmission noise when decelerating on compression or going down a hill. :mad: It's pretty loud in the cabin. Shifting is normal, possibly a little slow when pulling a hill, but otherwise has no symptoms. Any ideas? Maybe low trans fluid level? I've parked it till I can figure this one out.

Found it. I was the #2 U-joint on the front propeller shaft. Rebuilt the shaft today. Pretty stright forward.
