I came across a clean 1958 series 1 109 frame. I did some research- this is the last year of the series 1 I think and they went from a 107 to 109 wheelbase.
I am wondering if this 109 1958 frame is the same or would work with little or no mods to a 67 11a 109

Both are were 3 door pickups...

Are the outriggers and cross member different and frame layout? Would it work?

Thanks,
tim

Can you get a hold of any schematics of the 2 chassis?

Now, these are guesses on my part because I don't honestly know exactly when certain changes were made. I believe that the rear springs hangers may not line up to the spring perches on the IIA axles - but that might just be on Station wagons. The brake pedal goes through the floor and the master cylinder is mounted on the frame and but if the IIA bulkhead lines up to its mount then that shouldn't be a problem. As for all the outriggers and such I really don't know.

Not sure if I was any help but best of luck and lets us know what you find out!

On the Series I chassis, the bulkhead outiggers are curved, on the Ser II/IIa they are straight.
The engine/gearbox mounts are different as are the body mounts.
The width between the bulkhead bolts is also different, the Series I is narrower between these points than the Series II/IIa.
Can be done, but a lot of work......

Thanks Les that will save me crawling under my truck and trying to measure everything.....

It is a clean 109 series frame, axles and engine/tranny- if anyone needs a 109 series 1 frame it might be a good deal for someone- He is asking $1,000... Located in Mpls MN
