Speedo question

Ok so i have been wondering about this for a while.

I have a speedo with the "trip" feature but i havent found any way to reset it to 0. Is this normal for a SIII trip speedo?

It just seems a bit weird to have the trip feature but no way to zero it out....

Is there an extra hole on the back of the speedo? I believe there is a short cable that should attach to the back and then come forward to the dash where you can operate the reset.
