    starter trouble

heres the situation. (siia diesel) When i press the starter button: either the starter engages turns the engine a quarter disengages and you hear the starter turning without it being engaged in the flywheel. or you try to start again and you hear nasty gears being shreaded between themselves(which is why i suspect worn flywheek gears)so i put the car in gear roll it to turn the flywheel a bit and sometimes your back to the first situation or it does the second thing again. sometimes it just klicks and nothing happens but with rewiring i did yesterday that hasnt happened again yet

Are you asking what might be wrong? Sounds like you are already on the right track... Flywheel teeth worn/stripped. The fact that you can move the truck a little bit and then start to crank it again would seem to mean that moving the truck is moving the flywheel to a spot that has (semi)good teeth.

Time to break out the hand crank... can you do that on a diesel?

Sounds like worn ring gear, bad bendix, or both.
