Hello All,

Factory Manual references "Bostik Sealant" should be used behind the dustcover on the Output Box. Searched online and found Bostik products that basically look like silicon caulk for auto-marine use.

Anyone used this stuff? Given this is just to keep water out, rather than a high tolerance seal, I'm thinking of using either a bunch of Hylomar or even some household silicon since it would give a thicker consistency.

I've attached 2 pics for reference about where I'm talking about on the transmission. Thanks.

Bostik is a brand, and they make a number of different sealants/glues etc. Who know's which one they mean.

X2 on the RTV. Thats what I'd use.

Just remember that some RTVs produce acid as they react with moisture when curing. Make sure to use a non-corrosive RTV.

I used the "Right Stuff" on my transmission rebuild a couple weeks ago. However, someone told me of a rtv-like material designed just for aluminum called an "aneorobic sealer"? I did not use it because i could not find any, however has anyone had any experience with it?

Thanks for the info Gents. Locktite sounds like the most tolerant solution given the aluminum/metal contact. No doubt I'm overthinking it.
