    re-sleeving a 4.6 dII motor?

has anyone ever had this done before? My 2003 discovery has a cracked cylinder sleeve and the new short block is so expensive i was wondering if there is another way, like re-sleeving, that will cut down the costs of getting it running again? does anyone know of a specific part number to purchase a sleeve or should i just leave that up to a machine shop that is willing to take on this task?

from what I've heard its not a good idea.
You could get a good 4.0 block and use it, or put in your 4.6 crank etc.
