My series II has a Rochester carb and I see no mention of it in the Green Bible. It works fine but seeps a bit. I am trying to familiarize myself with this new truck, so I thought I would rebuils it. I have the rebuild kit but have no instructions.

Is this a common carburator for the '60 2.25 engine? It seems well matched to the engine.

Land rover never used a Rochester from the factory, which is why it's not mentioned in the green bible. A PO replaced your Solex. You could have problems if the Rochester isn't jetted correctly, so make sure you have the right jets.

Tsmith check out TerryAnn over at expeditionlandrover.info (http://www.expeditionlandrover.info/landRoverFAQ/FAQ_rochester.htm) she has a page about carbs commonly used on the 2.25l with some good info, and a link to Here (http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/booklets/5020mts00.htm) which you will find indispensable. British pacific has jets in stock if you need them. Best of luck.

Mine seeped a bit between the head and float. Common problem from what I've read, the rebuild kit fixed it with the new gasket.. However now it developed a vacume leak at the throttle body shaft, guess I cleaned it too well!
