I currently have the military springs and shocks the springs are not rusted and flex the shocks are shot and am going to replace with pro comp but will be keeping the springs for a while, how good this set-up for offroading? want to go to some good places and get home again, wanting to know anyones experiences with the old springs.
Thanks

The set up is fine for off-roading that doesn't require a huge amount of articulation. You will have better traction with a few hundred pounds of stuff in the back of it. This is because the springs are definitely stiff even if they do flex.

I have an 88" with military springs. The previous comment about articulation is right on. My rear end can articulate enough to get the wheels to rub (245/75) but the front is brutal. I have medium hardness polymer bushings in the suspension which also doesn't help. My trick it to bounce the vehicle just right way........
