I tightened my crankshaft bolt on my Tdi 300 today! I took the bolt to 59 lbs of torque as the specs said and attempted to take it 90 degrees but the strap wrench that I was using was making it difficult to tell the amount of tightening. I was able to finally keep it tight and got 230 lbs of torque on it. I am just wondering if anyone experienced with this knows if this is going to be enough torque and if it is safe to attempt start up and running procedures? thanks to anyone who can help

Before installing my 300 in the 110, I changed the timing belt and when I tried to tighten the crank bolt, I wasn't able to tighten it through 90 degrees either. I got it pretty tight though and it has been fine for nearly a year and half now. But for sure getting it tightened to spec would be best and safest bet.
